DPL / Dye Pulse Light System

XL PulStar utilises DPL (Dye Pulse Light) narrow-spectrum light technology for effective facial skin rejuvenation. The 500-600nm and 550-650nm wavelengths cover the absorption peaks of pigment and oxygenated hemoglobin in the skin, quickly and efficiently treating facial pigmentation and telangiectasia (skin redness) conditions.

How it works

XL PulStar (DPL / Dye Pulse Laser) works on the principle of selective thermolysis. The selected wavelength of laser light is absorbed to a high degree by the target structure (called chromophores) compared to surrounding tissue.

The pulse duration of laser energy is shorter than the target structure’s thermal relaxation time, which is the time taken for the target to cool by approx. half of its peak temperature after irradiation. This ensures that the impact of thermal energy is limited to the target structure and does not affect the surrounding tissue.

As the laser energy impacts the pigmented lesion it will disrupt the lesion into small fragments, these will move to the surface of the skin and flake off. With vascular lesions the heat coagulates the blood in the unwanted vessel and it disappears. XL PulStar also incorporates RF energy with Pulsed Light for collagen stimulation and skin tightening delivering superior results to standard IPL.
